The **Schlossgartenbahn** was built for the 1967 Federal Horticultural Show in Karlsruhe. After initially being operated by a private company, the **Verkehrsbetriebe** took over the little train in 1988. The operating resources include a diesel locomotive and four carriages, as well as the [**steam locomotive "Greif"**](https://www.dampflok-greif.de/), which is operated by a subcontractor. The railway carries around 50,000 passengers per year.
